چکیده
DNA barcoding by sequencing a standard region of cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) provides an accurate, rapid method for identifying different species. In this study, we provide molecular taxonomic assessment demersal fishes in the Bering Sea and Chukchi based on barcoding, total 123 mitochondrial COI partial fragments with length 652 bp were obtained. The consensus among all sequences was determined alignment via BLAST search GenBank. Phylogenetic relationships reconstructed neighbor-joining trees gaps. 39 species investigated analysis distributed 10 families. Five families within Scorpaeniformes including 19 accounted almost half next largest group Perciformes, 9 species, followed Pleuronectiformes Gadiformes, 5 each, smallest number belonged to Rajiformes. At family level, Cottidae family, Zoarcidae, accounting 8 other eight families—Gadidae, Pleuronectidae, Psychrolutidae, Agonidae, Liparidae, Ammodytidae, Hexagrammidae, Rajidae—accounted smaller proportion brief, our study shows that barcodes are effective tool studying fish diversity taxonomy Sea. contribution Arctic may benefit further studies biodiversity, biogeography conservation future.

The physiological adaptations and toxin profiles of the toxic Alexandrium fundyense on the eastern Bering Sea and Chukchi Sea shelves.
Abundant cyst distributions of the toxic dinoflagellate Alexandrium fundyense (previous A. tamarense north American clade) were recently observed on the north Chukchi Sea shelf and on the eastern Bering Sea shelf, suggesting that A. fundyense is both highly adapted to the local environments in the high latitude areas and might cause toxin contamination of plankton feeders. However, little is kn...
متن کاملPhytoplankton blooms beneath the sea ice in the Chukchi sea
In the Arctic Ocean, phytoplankton blooms on continental shelves are often limited by light availability, and are therefore thought to be restricted to waters free of sea ice. During July 2011 in the Chukchi Sea, a large phytoplankton bloom was observed beneath fully consolidated pack ice and extended from the ice edge to 4100 km into the pack. The bloom was composed primarily of diatoms, with ...
متن کاملDemersal Fish Assemblages and Spatial Diversity Patterns in the Arctic-Atlantic Transition Zone in the Barents Sea
Direct and indirect effects of global warming are expected to be pronounced and fast in the Arctic, impacting terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems. The Barents Sea is a high latitude shelf Sea and a boundary area between arctic and boreal faunas. These faunas are likely to respond differently to changes in climate. In addition, the Barents Sea is highly impacted by fisheries and other ...
متن کاملEastern Bering Sea - 2005
The anomalously warm winter of 2005 follows similarly warm winters of 2003 and 2004. Although surface air temperature in the winter of 2002 was colder than 1961-2000 average, the depth-integrated temperatures at Mooring 2 indicate that the shift to warmer conditions in the Bering Sea began in the spring of 2000. This warming becomes comparable in its scale with major warm episodes in the late 1...
